The importance of Organisational Values

I have a strong need to vary the work that I do, and I vary also the types of organisations I work with. Over this however there are some common themes which emerge and which apply no matter what type of business I am in.

One such element is that for every Organisation I have ever been involved with, I see the necessity for them to have a concrete set of Organisational Values to be defined, and lived. Otherwise how can we define what sets this organisation apart from its competitors? How can we truly engage the hearts and minds of our stakeholders?
